Plovdiv International Opera Conducting Competition

FIRST prize

Federico Tibone was awarded First Prize and Orchestra Prize at the 2026 Plovdiv International Opera Conducting Competition, affirming his emergence among the most promising young conductors of his generation. Chosen from 204 applicants from around the world, he distinguished himself throughout the competition’s rigorous symphonic and operatic rounds before winning the final with Puccini’s La bohème. This achievement marks an important milestone in his artistic path and brings forthcoming conducting engagements with the Plovdiv State Opera and Astana Opera in the 2026/2027 season.

Album Release

Gracias a la vida

At the piano, Federico Tibone joins mezzo-soprano Anne-Lise Polchlopek in Gracias a la vida, a debut album of rare poetic intensity, released by Outhere Music in collaboration with the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. Blending classical and popular repertoire with elegance and boldness, this deeply expressive project offers a vibrant tribute to life, to the voice, and to the universal power of human emotion.
